What Is Carbon Offsetting?

Carbon Offsetting is a great way to counteract the ongoing problems of Climate Change. CO2 Emission and Climate change is unfortunately inevitable, however Carbon Offsetting allows you to purchase Credits for major CO2 sources such as home heating, electricity and travel, which can then be put to use in other positive plans worldwide such as Wind Farms and Solar Installation for example, to in turn help with the CO2 Emission within our atmosphere. As we can never reduce our Carbon Emission to zero, we can still purchase reductions of CO2 elsewhere in the world rather than just our own homes, with this Carbon Offset project that is currently encouraging people worldwide to help out and do their part. It’s a known fact that we’ll never be able to come up with a solution to completely cure climate change but Carbon Offsetting will indefinitely reduce the effect and impact of our CO2 Emissions into the atmosphere – the main cause of climate change.

There are a few different methods that you can use to help with this major crisis of climate change; tree planting was primarily the most effective, however now you purchase Carbon Offsets for CO2 sources from your everyday use, Renewable Energy Sources instead of Fossil Fuels, Energy Conservation schemes, and even Methane Capture. All these help with the reduction and reverse effect of the ever-growing chance of climate change, and purchasing Carbon Offsets may be less expensive and more beneficial than trying to lessen your own CO2 Emissions within your home.

The Carbon Offsetting project plays a significant role in the Carbon Neutral scheme, mainly in Western Countries, where the fear of climate change caused by the negative effect of energy and CO2 Emissions has been detected. There is a now the Kyoto Protocol plan at large that allows the Government and specific Private Companies to earn Carbon Offset Credits, which can then be traded via the Marketplace for more positive effects using the CDM system, also known as the Clean Development Mechanism. The CDM makes sure that Carbon Offset projects are set up to the higher quality and work to their best ability and allows certain Organisations and Companies to purchase CDM-approved Certified Emissions Reduction if they’re having trouble meeting their ideal Emissions quota. The Government and Ministerial Air Travel are currently purchasing Carbon Credits for Carbon Emission Reduction for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficient Sources to encourage and help the world to go Carbon Neutral by the year 2012. You can do your part too! The Government are also planning on setting up a Code of Best Practice for buyers of Carbon Offsetting, which will give the consumers the utmost confidence that their share in Carbon Offsetting is being used for a positive effect and that this plan will continue to grow throughout the years.

This is an ever-growing market and you can be a part of it. Make sure that you purchase your Offsets and reductions from professional, legal, trustworthy, and highly recommended specialist providers and distributors to get the most out of this life-saving scheme.
