My Home Energy Report…

By Russ • Mar 26th, 2008 • Category: MYG Blog

Finally got around to visiting the EST website and completing a Home Energy Report. This is a fairly simple questionaire which asks various questions concerning your home and its energy, heating and insulation requirements.

The results were, um, not great…

Based on the information I supplied, I could fairly easily save up to £367 a year on my energy bills and reduce my carbon emissions by a whopping 3.0 tonnes! Food for thought indeed.

My house has a potential energy efficiency rating of B, with a the current rating at a lowly E (on a scale from A to G, with A being the best). This rating system is similar to that given in the EPC (Energy Performance Certificate).

I plan to use the report almost as a “to do” list, as it gives good, solid advice about exactly where I can make some savings based on actual information about my house. My next post should see me putting the first step into action.
